WSLE Mission Statement and Pillars
Our mission is to bring together members in a unified effort to uphold academic excellence, local values, and responsible stewardship of public education. We support sound decision-making through collaboration, transparency, and respect for parental rights and community standards. Together, we work to ensure schools provide a strong foundation for student success and civic responsibility.
Our coalition of school board members champions traditional, conservative, and classical education. We are committed to policies and financial strategies that ensure academic excellence and fiscal responsibility for all districts.
We believe:
In local control of public schools through locally elected school boards, with minimal state and federal interference. Consent of the governed is paramount.
Parental rights are very important. The longstanding doctrine of in loco parentis must be respected in American education.
In preserving respect for traditional values.
In fiscally conservative financial solutions for public schools. Educational needs should be balanced with the need for a healthy business climate that does not excessively tax home and business owners.
Fostering self-controlled, moral, students who respect the founding principles of the United States is critical to the future success of our nation.
